Magnus "SoulEye" Pålsson makes music for videogames in Sweden. His love for the medium stretches back to when he first laid hands on Nintendo's Game&Watch handheld system. It continued with the C-64, Amiga 500, Amiga 1200, and later on PC. Most of the artist's tunes reflect the lo-fi samples, catchy melodies and retro feeling of these old school game platforms.
SoulEye has contributed music to many games, including Garden Gnome Carnage by Daniel Remar, Space Phallus by Charlie's games, and #ModArchive Story 2 by Nicklas "Nifflas" Nygren. He is perhaps best known for his score to the platforming puzzler VVVVVV, designed by by Terry Cavanagh.
In early 2010, the artist debuted his original soundtrack album for VVVVVV. Entitled PPPPPP, the album is currently available on compact disc and digital download through the artist's website, while samples can be heard on Bandcamp and SoundCloud. In 2011, the musician self-published the arrange album PPPPPPowerup! The album includes arrangements by Hydorah Arranged Tracks participants Mattias Häggström Gerdt and Gryzor87.
